Bretton Woods/ Mt Washington Hotel
On October 28 our class took a trip to Bretton Woods resort ant the Mt Washington Hotel. When we arrived at the mountain it looked like full blown winter for a second. There were snow covered trails and it was actually snowing out. We soon met James the skier services director of Bretton Woods. James was quick to welcome us to the resort and he also gave us a tour of the main base lodge. James was a great resource for guest services information. James also talked about his job and how most of the time his job is helping disgruntled customers, weather it be from getting rentals to fixing a problem at the hotel James does it all. After speaking with James we took a quick walk over to the maintenance building where we had a few words with Big Tuna. Big Tuna is the snow making guru according to Sean Doll. Mr. Tuna told us the basics on snow making and how the proper temperature truly effects snow quality. After we were done touring the resort we took a quick trip over to the Mt. Washington Hotel. The grand hotel is one of the few left standing today, many were lost to fires. We took a quick tour of the premises, we saw the gold room, conference rooms, lobby, the pool, artificial ice rink, and of course The Cave.
